Description
Another seasonal addition to the learning closet, these sweet little leaves are sure to please your little one’s autumn senses. These handheld manipulatives are great for transferring activities, counting, color sorting as well as a myriad of open-ended play (perhaps to collect on a windy day or excavate from a basket of buckwheat hulls!) A great conversation starter about why leaves change color and what makes them green! What color do they turn after green? What color are they right before they fall off the tree?
Add a pair of wooden Tongs or chopsticks and you have a great fine motor-skill, prewriting muscle builder!
These leaves have been hand painted with a nontoxic water based wash. They have been lightly sealed with a combination of organic beeswax and jojoba oil to keep the colors vibrant.
Each set comes with 20 leaves in a drawstring pouch:
5 red
5 orange
5 yellow
5 green
5 natural (brown)
Each leaf measures approximately 3/4″. Due to their size, they are not meant for children who still put things in their mouths as they could present a choking hazard. As with ALL toys, children should be supervised while at play.
All of my creations were made with your little one in mind. Each piece was designed to nurture child development through open-ended play. These pieces can be used to broaden your little one’s understanding and knowledge of our world and were created as early educational toys. I am inspired by the teachings of Montessori; the natural beauty of Waldorf; and incorporate a myriad of other learning-through-play philosophies when I design. It makes me smile to see my made-with-love pieces being toted for use as preschool toys and in natural play settings. Thank you for helping me support little minds, bodies, and imaginations through engaging, hands-on play and discovery.
